Middle and High School Introductory Spanish

Bienvenidos al mundo de Español!

I am Profe Thier  and I teach middle and high school Spanish I. I was born and raised in Chicago. After student teaching in Sioux Falls, I realized that this was the state I want to live in. I applied and got my first teaching job at Whittier Middle School in Sioux Falls teaching math. Then COVID-19 and I decided to switch subjects which is how I came to be here teaching middle and high school introductory Spanish!

I am so excited to get to know all of my students and this community! I know that we will work together and figure this school year out together as well as learning a new language. We will be doing fun activities including skits (obras), levantate, matamoscas and others. I teach Spanish because I know what it is like to learn Spanish as a secondary language with all the challenges, but also how it opens up a new perspective of how to communicate!
